History:
The concept of TextEdge was discovered in the late 1990’s, prior to any of the technological requirements for implementation being available. Initially, the idea was to have a way to notify consumers when waiting lines would be minimal. The idea was set aside as a “good thought”. Since then, the use of technology has exploded and today, people are constantly connected to the world around them. Almost everyone uses the internet and/or nearly everyone has mobile phones with text capability. Both were considered critically important to implementing what is now the TextEdge offering.
Evolution and Timing:
As with the evolution of technology, the TextEdge offering has also grown from the original idea. In late 2009, the concept of notifying a consumers of business' slow times, was combined with the concept of businesses offering real-time discounted offers to control revenue consistency. Today, TextEdge gives consumers unbeatable deals and businesses the ability to use discounts as a means to drive in business, quickly.
TextEdge has gone through enormous evolutions, typical of any startup: business plan development, market analysis, capitalization, marketing plans, and ultimately the confirmation that the concept serves the people it is designed to.
While all this was happening, there were many external forces working to make our launch even more inevitable. First, the use of cell phones, text messages and the internet, has continued to increase as people and companies continue to grow more comfortable with technology. Technology usage continues to soar to higher numbers daily. Second, the economic conditions for both businesses and consumers have been poor, which makes TextEdge even more impactful. Lastly, other “deal-based” web sites were just beginning to emerge and would go on to be very successful in their niches’. Many promotional tools are now mainstream from coupon websites, to group purchasing. All these factors created a perfect time to launch the TextEdge offering!
